Bangkok never ceases to surprise me. Just when I thought I had explored all the city's culinary corners, I found myself tucked away in an intimate, dimly lit space filled with character, charm, and an impressive lineup of wine bottles. Welcome to Vinotheque, a hidden steakhouse that quietly sits behind the hustle of the city, waiting to blow your mind (and taste buds).
I had the pleasure of dining here, and let me tell you, it was chef’s kiss from start to finish.
The Ambience
Vinotheque feels like a secret rendezvous for true food and wine lovers. With industrial windows, soft drapes, vintage lighting, and a backdrop of wine bottles lining the wall, the setting was effortlessly romantic. Perfect for date night, an intimate catch-up, or even solo indulgence (because yes, self-love includes good steak and wine too)..
The Starters: Simple but Sophisticated
I started with fresh oysters served on a bed of greens, seasoned just right with cracked pepper and lemon wedges. Paired with a glass of red, it set the tone for an indulgent evening.
Next came the Caesar salad, topped with chunky grilled bacon that was smoky and succulent. It's the kind of salad that makes you forget it's salad.
The Warm-Up: Comfort in a Bowl
The tomato stew served with toasted sourdough was soul food. Rich, warm, and flavorful perfectly balancing rustic charm with gourmet comfort. I didn’t expect to crave stew in a steakhouse, but here we are.

The Main Affair: Steak That Speaks
Now for the moment I’ve been waiting for, the steak. Juicy, beautifully charred, and perfectly seasoned. Served on a slate with a side of potato wedges and onion relish, every bite melted like butter. If you're a steak lover, Vinotheque needs to be on your Bangkok food map.

The Wine
I paired my dinner with a bottle of Massolino Langhe Nebbiolo 2019. Smooth, elegant, with just the right amount of body to elevate the meal. It's one of those wines that makes you sit back, close your eyes, and sigh in pure bliss

Final Thoughts
Vinotheque Bangkok is one of those rare gems that feels like a whisper in the noise of the city. No big signs, no flashy promos, just incredible food, impeccable wine, and an experience that lingers long after the last sip.
If you’re looking for an intimate steakhouse in Bangkok, or a romantic wine dinner spot, this is it.
Save this for your next Bangkok trip, and thank me later.
With Love,
Catharina Maya
